Rama by K.J. Yesudas

The Oru Pakka Naadan Premam album has several strong tracks, but Rama is the one most listeners come back to first. Mohan Sithara has a history of strong work, and the music on Rama is among the most memorable of it.

The performance by K.J. Yesudas is the centrepiece here — controlled where it needs to be, open where it counts. Vinu Mohan, Bhagath Manuel, Madhupal gave the film its soul, and Rama is the song that most directly channels that feeling into music.
